This year Park Plus, Park Associati’s research team, has been working with the practice’s design groups, establishing and developing a productive dialogue centred around a specific theme: designing and building with wood. In line with experimentation trends, this in-depth study of wood was applied in the practice’s most recent design proposals.
Comparing experiences and know-how

Thanks also to a collaboration with the German company Bollinger + Grohmann, the in-depth study of wood as a building material has been focusing on urban design interventions, with particular reference to Milan, also in conformity with the new PTG (Territorial Zoning Plan) of Milano2030. Thanks to Park Associati’s design experience, combined with B + G’s technical know-how and the support of Esa Engineering and GAD, a very valuable background was developed in support of current and future projects, as confirmed by the recent Human Technopole competitions in Milan and the new Pila cable car system.

Next element: clay
While work on wood progresses, Park Plus has started tackling a new thematic research focused on the potential of another material-element, one that is increasingly regaining ground within the design scene: clay. In the next few months we are going to experiment with clay, both baked and raw.
